Meet Cambridge & Counties Bank

About Cambridge & Counties Bank

Our work is centred around our customers, brokers and business partners; from building strong relationships to considering each application on its individual merits. We have a depth of experience and take the time to get to know and understand the requirements behind every application. Our next businesses needs and goals aren’t the same as the last business we worked with and we understand that. Working together and building a relationship with SMEs means we can provide the right support and solutions to help them grow and prosper. Bring this altogether, and you get a bank that really is a little bit special.

What makes your bank unique?

At Cambridge & Counties Bank, our accounts are more than just a simple transaction. Whether you’re a first-time or long-term customer, our dedication to providing excellent service never wavers.

What are your bank’s core values?

We’re proud to be straightforward, reliable, responsive, adaptable, and empathetic.

What are the biggest changes and challenges that your bank has faced in the last two years?

Since 2019, the Bank has dealt with many industry wide challenges, including Brexit which, during 2019 caused huge amounts of uncertainty in the property market, making investors and our key customer demographic reluctant to invest. For our savers, it meant low returns on their deposits and fluctuating savings accounts. The year 2020 brought little stability to the market, with COVID-19. During this time however, we’ve been able to review our processes and increasingly accelerate our online service offering to our customers, as well as recruit new senior level staff to encourage experience improvements with us as a trusted savings provider.

What are the benefits of your bank working with Raisin UK?

We’re able to offer our competitively priced savings accounts to a new range of customers who in turn will be able to benefit using their existing Raisin UK Account.

What new trends in banking and finance do you predict we will see in the next 12 months?

From our experience and expertise within the industry, we believe the focus will be on returning to a sense of normality for the banking and wider industry and society in general. We will continue to play our part in that by offering other savings accounts to our customers but also continue lending to our SME customer base that continues to grow.

Finally, tell us something about your bank that customers would be interested to know.

Owned by Trinity Hall, Cambridge and Cambridgeshire Local Government Pension Fund, we are the result of two well-respected institutions who joined together to create a responsible expert-banking specialist. Our main aim was to bring back all the great elements of a traditional bank, combining these with all the speed, efficiency, and innovation of a modern-day lender.
